In the exhibition Shrubs, Flowers, and Decay, the young photographer Tilyen Mucik (born in Ljubljana in 1995) discovers the variety and diversity of nature, and the sculptor Zadok Ben-David (born in Bayhan, Yemen in 1949) creates it by his own hand. Artificial and natural nature meet.

Her subject is silence. The work of the Berlin painter Ursula Schumacher includes still lifes and landscape pieces, arrangements of objects, flowers, scarves, boxes, glasses and dolls, boats and trees in the interplay of light and shadow. Over 30 works in oil on canvas are to be seen. It is the almost inconspicuous things that - to our delight - achieve a matter-of-fact, almost unpretentious expression in Schumacher's compositions.

As a sculptor, painter and lyricist, the Berlin artist Wolfram Beck (1930-2004) left behind an extensive and multifaceted oeuvre. In our presentation we show sculptures, assemblages, drawings and paintings. Beck was a master of aesthetic rigour and precision craftsmanship with a high sensitivity for the treatment of the respective material such as wood, steel, bronze, acrylic glass and stone. The exhibition presents sculptures, drawings and paintings from the 1960s to the 1990s.

In her new artistic project, Nadja Bournonvilles deals in many ways with the life, biodiversity, legacy, representation and extinction of animals. The artist photographed objects and specimens in the Natural History Museum Vienna. The result is a visual aesthetic cosmos, deeply rooted in being between beauty and deformation. At the same time, the photographs refer to the heterotopia inherent in the museum.

In addition to numerous fashion photographs spanning the twentieth century, just as many  paintings and drawings testify to the role of fashion as a means of expression and representation of a particular era: from the reform dress around 1900 and the Dada dandies of the 1920s to avant-garde clothing designs in contemporary art.

BORCH Editions is delighted to present Tacita Dean's offset lithograph print projects Antigone (offset), 2021, and JG (offset), 2013, in Berlin. Both projects derive from Dean's eponymous films: In Antigone (2018), Dean creates a multi-layered visual tale around the concept of blindness, rooted in the destiny of Antigone’s father/brother Oedipus, while JG (2013) is a visual interpretation of a hypothetical conversation between J.G. Ballard, Robert Smithson, and Tacita Dean.

The second part of the exhibition "Gods Moving in Places. The Day Reader" will dive deeper into the relationship of  living landscapes to memories, histories and colonial trauma. Through the works of French-Guyanese artist Mathieu Kleyebe Abonnenc the exhibition will take the Amazonian forest of the Guiana Shield as a starting point to explore the interwoveness of times and place.

In cooperation with the Stadtgeschichtliches Museum Spandau, students of the master’s program “Bühnenbild_Szenischer Raum” of the TU of Berlin have taken part in the project “Idea Seminar for the Expansion of the Exhibition: ‘Enthüllt. Berlin und seine Denkmäler’ in connection with Josef Thorak’s pacing horses'” in the winter semester 2021/22. They dealt with the development and testing of new forms of narrative spatial design.

Relating, in a broad sense, to contemporary phenomena in the context of friendship, nature and culture, the artistic works form networks and explore the interplay between art and human coexistence.

"KioskShop berlin (KSb)" by H. N. Semjon has shaped the face of central Berlin for 11 years from 2000 to 2011. The white shop as a minimalist work of art that connects the art and retail world. The strangely remote "Product Sculptures" from everyday goods, with a painterly structured white beeswax coat, seem to have stopped time. Nicolas Berggruen's Holding kills him. The great collector pretends to be ignorant, or is it.
