In the exhibition Shrubs, Flowers, and Decay, the young photographer Tilyen Mucik (born in Ljubljana in 1995) discovers the variety and diversity of nature, and the sculptor Zadok Ben-David (born in Bayhan, Yemen in 1949) creates it by his own hand. Artificial and natural nature meet.

Her subject is silence. The work of the Berlin painter Ursula Schumacher includes still lifes and landscape pieces, arrangements of objects, flowers, scarves, boxes, glasses and dolls, boats and trees in the interplay of light and shadow. Over 30 works in oil on canvas are to be seen. It is the almost inconspicuous things that - to our delight - achieve a matter-of-fact, almost unpretentious expression in Schumacher's compositions.

How does one find focus in a diffuse world, calm in times of unrest? In her first solo exhibition, SUR LA TABLE, Anna Tunikova, born in 1994 and and working and living in Berlin, addresses the big questions. For her examination of the present, the artist draws on the past and abstracts forms in her paintings that are reminiscent of the Stone Age. In this field of tension between the times, what the audience is looking for opens up to them: calm and focus.

Taking inspiration not only from Corinth, but also Sonia Delaunay, and Callum Innes, among other modern and contemporary artists, Ohlsen has spent the last two decades painting his surroundings and experimenting with colour, materials, formats, and, incorporating photography into his painterly practice.

"On Exactitude in Science" is one of the most remarkable things I’ve seen in months. The work consists of two screens. On the left plays Godfrey Reggio’s Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out Of Balance, the 1982 stoner classic of slow motion and time lapse footage of cities and landscapes with pulsing, shimmering Philip Glass soundtrack. On the right: Butler’s shot-by-shot remake, in which he has — marvelously, reproduced the film in its entirety by modding Grand Theft AutoV.

The artist photographed objects and specimens in the Natural History Museum Vienna. The result is a visual aesthetic cosmos, deeply rooted in being between beauty and deformation. At the same time, the photographs refer to the heterotopia inherent in the museum.

In addition to numerous fashion photographs spanning the twentieth century, just as many  paintings and drawings testify to the role of fashion as a means of expression and representation of a particular era: from the reform dress around 1900 and the Dada dandies of the 1920s to avant-garde clothing designs in contemporary art.

The swiss artist André Thomkins (1930–1985) counts among the most interesting artistic positions of the postwar era. Living in Germany since 1952, he creates - blessed with an exuberant inventiveness - an oeuvre that in its diversity resists art-historical classification. We open an insight to this multi-faceted work presenting – besides oil-paintings, watercolours and drawings – the so-called Lackskins, Rollagen and Scharniere as well as rapport patterns and paraphrases.

When dinosaurs meet aliens and bags of garbage, it can only be about one topic: climate change. The phenomenon is so complex that it permeates all areas of our lives. And without consistent and decisive countermeasures, all changes head to a critical point - the "tipping point" or Klimakipppunkt in German. In their works, the artists deal with the causes and effects of climate change.

He created an idiosyncratic artistic cosmos that combines factual depiction with enigmatic symbolism. On the occasion of his 100th birthday we show a selection of his paintings and drawings.

Claudia Kallscheuer has an unusual way of expressing art – writing and drawing using the sewing machine, embroidery and sewing and sometimes just leaving threads hanging. Highlighting little things as valuable, things we mostly no longer appreciate. Claudia Kallscheuer transports the seemingly inconsequential, processual, repetitive, linked with calculated chaotic thread. The works obtain strong relevance through the implementation of embroidery.

With this exhibition, Kang Contemporary showcases the relationships between mental and physical spaces. At the same time, it opens the possibility of discovering a plethora of connections and correlations which are tangent to everyday life.

"Bright Red" brings together new works by Portuguese artist José Pedro Cortes. The title alludes to the visual deficiency that each man has, a mild color blindness that shifts the color red (or what is known as red) to green, changing the reading of the color spectrum. His photographs function as a map of visual possibilities. Cortes says: "My images reflect our time of constant doubt."

From over 3,000 artworks in the collection, founded in 1977, about 100 works by ca. 70 artists have been selected. Relating, in a broad sense, to contemporary phenomena in the context of friendship, nature and culture, the artistic works form networks and explore the interplay between art and human coexistence.

The exhibition “Über die Zeichnung hinaus” shows the abundance of current drawing positions in Berlin: exuberant pictorial narrative and strict reduction, figuration and abstraction, documentation and site inspection, illusion and its suspension, the microscopic and the generous, drawing as performance, in books, in space or in animation film. Whether on paper or in combination with other media, drawing goes beyond itself and crosses borders.

Her work is recognised for its experimental nature and its questioning of matter as inert, dead or instrumentalised. It is the overlapping trajectories of energetics, material vitalities and spatio-durational convergences that bring the work into existence.

Thomas Florschuetz, born in Zwickau in 1957, is considered to be one of the most important German representatives of contemporary photography. The fascination of photography lies in the complexity of the medium for the artist – which extends beyond the purely illustrative, documentary function. "KioskShop berlin (KSb)" by H. N. Semjon has shaped the face of central Berlin for 11 years from 2000 to 2011. The white shop as a minimalist work of art that connects the art and retail world. Between 1891 and 1914, more than a million mostly Jewish migrants from Eastern Europe had to pass through the emigrant train station between Berlin and Spandau. Before they were allowed to emigrate via the North Sea ports to the USA and other countries, their papers, finances and state of health were checked here.

The exhibition explores questions that are just as pressing today as they were over a hundred years ago.
